The project is the master thesis of two IT Product Development students at Aarhus University. The studies combine the development and use of technology based products with a design and user oriented approach. The goal is to explore the use of technology based solutions for heart patients. The target group is patients at home, who have undergone surgery and then have to go through the subsequent rehabilitation process. Focus is on the use of gamification principles. Through user studies and the development of one or more prototypes, the goal is to uncover which strategies work well for the target group and how they can be implemented. Furthermore an assessment in regards to the different phases of the rehabilitation process can be relevant. The project also looks into the challenges and limitations involved in applying gamification principles in the rehabilitation process.
The project runs from May 2013 to November 2013.
